New Vocational Courses

We are offering these courses for students in mainstream school who are struggling with the classroom environment, maybe they are poor attenders or their behaviour is difficult to manage. We are offering these courses to get students back on track and either reintegrate back with their school full time or continue to study with us at Headstart+ on a part- time basis.

|
* These run for six weeks at a time over two consecutive days
|
|
* Small groups of students
|
|
* From 10 in the morning till 3 in the afternoon
|
|
* £50 per day
|
|
* We are able to collect from Battle or Bexhill Station.
|
|
We offer two courses:
|
1. Construction skills: to include bricklaying, painting and decorating, carpentry, plumbing and building services
|
2. Farming and animal husbandry: to include looking after small animals and pets
|
|
Progression
|
Courses start at a basic level and allow students to progress to achieve:
|
* BTEC level 1 Introductory Certificate or Diploma Construction equivalent to 2 or 4 GCSE's
|
* BTEC level 1 Introductory Certificate or Diploma in Land and Environment equivalent to 2 or 4 GCSE's
|
* Courses listed on DFCS Achievement and Attainment Tables
|
* Qualifications in English and Maths and ICT (Entry level, GCSE as required)
|
Students can then continue to study at college on a level 2 BTEC First qualification or use the qualifications gained with us to enter the world of work.
